I have enjoyed tabletop games for as long as I can remember. These range from boardgames through RPG to full on miniature wargames. The thing is that the bit I like best is setting the scene for the RPGs and the wargames. I would spend hours drawing maps and plans then creating the suitable environment for the games. Whilst I would enjoy the games it was nothing compared to the preparation for them.
During this time I have gone from the Airfix playsets such as Fort Apache and Sherwood Castle, to making full on complex buildings in a variety of materials. These may be scratch built from blue foam or kits often made from resin. However they are made the underlying goal has always been to make some that looks as good as I can but with the ability to use them in games. This is a difficult balancing act to get right as you are trying to get to the levels of the museum diorama yet still practical for a game.
I have also found myself at a time in my life where due to circumstances I am able to devote my time to doing it full time so that is what I am now doing.
